Container Tilting Chassis

The net weight of the 40 foot containers is to be recorded with the combined weighing station. Like a truck weighing, the full container must be weighed with an initial weighing. Then the second container must be weighed with the second weighing. The difference gives the net weight. Due to the construction of the tilting chassis, the weighing technology is completely separated from the construction. For weighing, a weighing frame with 4 measuring cells is hydraulically raised to decouple the container from the tilting chassis. The hydraulic stroke is ensured by means of special synchronizing cylinders and actuators. The locking with the tilting station is guaranteed. Two tipping stations are controlled by a control unit.



A traffic light signals the fork lift driver that a new container can be placed. The container ID-number is entered at the operator terminal. The weighing frame is raised by pressing the button and the gross weight is determined. The weighing frame is lowered and the Twistlock locks are manually locked by the operator. Now the operator can switch on the tilt protection and tilt the container with the “Up-Down” button. If the container is empty and back into the basic position, the twistlock interlocks must be released and the tilt protection must be switched off. Pressing the full-lock button will calculate the empty weight as in the initial weighing. When the weighing process is finished, the traffic light switches to “green” and a new cycle can begin. The weight data are displayed and provided in a data block for higher-level systems.
